Cae Hir Gardens and Tea Room

Cae Hir Gardens and Tea Room
Covering 6 acres of rural Welsh hillside in Ceredigion, Cae Hir Gardens were envisaged, designed and solely created by Dutchman Wil Akkermans, whose family history in Dutch Horticulture stretches back over 200 years!  The gardens are a feat of dedication and stamina coupled with the remarkable creative and artistic ability to paint a masterpiece using plants instead of oils; and rough fields instead of a canvas.

Since its conception in 1983, Cae Hir has matured and developed into one of Britain's most highly acclaimed gardens, featured alongside such national institutions as Bodnant, Blenheim Palace and Sandringham as one of the select Royal Horticultural Society's Partner Gardens. For a garden created from 4 fields of Welsh farmland by one man and a series of old fashioned hand tools, this is nothing short of astonishing!
